Damn, it feels really good to be writing one of these again. Where have I been? I’m sure the answer to that question will be dealt with in a proper entry. Until then, suffice it to say that I’m trying to get back in the gym.
I went on my own, no trainer, and manged to power through a damn fine total body workout. I wrote down things I’d like to do and before I knew it, an hour went by. Nice! I also surprised myself with the weights I could handle (though I’m sure I’ll feel it tomorrow).
I’ve been trying to run on the weekends and two of my best friends and I get together every Wednesday to do sprints. My wife and I will start yoga and dancing (and maybe even self defense classes).

I’ve been a bit out of commission lately; I got a bit injured on my Friday workout. Plus, with the eclipse and some rescheduling… I haven’t worked out in a bit.
Had a leg day today. It was alright except I mostly tried to take it easy so I didn’t mess myself up. I went way up in leg press, though, which is great!

I’ve had some mild food poisoning so I didn’t feel my leg day much today. I went up in some things (awesome) but I probably could’ve done even more if I felt better. We’ll see next time!

Pretty solid push day today. I moved up in a few things, which is really nice. Best of all, I got up to 80 lbs on the bench press! Seeing as how my previous max was only 90 lbs, I’d say that’s damn amazing! Look out, goals, here I come!

Something’s up with my pull days. I don’t seem to be hitting as hard, especially when I’ve moved up with everything else this strength session. I think it has to do with beginning with pull-ups. They wear me out so much that I don’t see much improvement in anything else.
At any rate, it was a pretty good Saturday workout, just not as momentous as I’d hoped.

Wow, this whole concentration thing is really paying off! I’ve been kind of dreading Walk Funny Day since I decided to be more present mentally because (like most people) I fucking hate leg day. But today was amazing! Like the other days, I’ve gone way up in everything and my attitude has been so much more positive!

Since my last workout, I’ve been thinking about motivation and dedication. I realized that I’m not really as focused as I should be at the gym. After working out for a year, I think I’m letting my attention slip and getting distracted. Not pushing myself much.
I’ve decided to focus more and really work hard. After all, I really want to change (and I pay a lot of money to train). Why not be all in?
That being said, I had an amazing push day today! Trainer Lana started me on the strength cycle, which means bigger weights and lower reps. I went up in weight in everything; a lot of weight, too.
